Nick Townsend BA Chartered FCIPD -

Nick is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and co-author of two of its publications – the Personnel, and Health & Safety Administration Handbooks; both designed to provide easy-to-understand staff admin systems for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

As an HR professional with a background in troubleshooting, Nick has spent the past two decades providing freelance specialist services to a range of organisations including Dell, Air France, HP/Compaq, Centrica and Saudia. He has hands-on assignment experience of the commercial, public, and not-for-profit sectors, and experience on other projects leading the HR work-stream. A recent project involved the transfer of IT support functions and associated employees from one company to another across 31 European countries. Nick's responsibilities included progress chasing all commercial, legal and finance activities necessary to ensure the timely signing of commercial contracts in all countries concerned.

Nick specialises in facilitating change in areas where the involvement of staff is vital to the success of an objective (which we maintain is almost every area). From experience, he believes in the value of keeping things simple if objectives are to be attained. He is also an advocate of the benefits of ensuring the widest possible (and most accurate) communication to all stakeholders.
